Fresh from success at the Warrnambool Classic, and the Australian Sprintcar Title, Tasmanian sprintcar star Jamie Bricknell has returned home to defend his position in the KRE/QSSS Track Championship.

Bricknell qualified directly into the A Main features on both nights of the Classic, the only Tasmanian to do so, and carried his competitive form into the Australian Title the following week.

Despite climbing through the ranks in his heats, Bricknell suffered a blown rear tire in a heat which forced him to limp home.  While he again qualified directly into the A Main, the dropped heat saw him start further down the grid than he potentially could of.  However, true to the 22 years olds form, he simply put the issues behind him and got on with the job.

"It was disappointing to have the tire let go" reflects Jamie.  "We finished fourth in the preliminary A Main, and were heading into the second night 3rd on points, but that's racing, and you play the hand you're dealt."

Bricknell started the final out of position 7, and drove a steady and reliable race to finish 6th.

"We've shown our consistency" adds team owner Steve.  "We finished top 5 last year, 6th this year, and regularly qualify directly into A Mains.....it's definitely made a lot people take notice."

"We'll contest a few more major rounds in the near future, but for now we are concentrating on securing the local championships" continues Steve.  "As much as we'd like to race the mainland, we have commitments back home, and want to support our local sponsors.  We've also got a strong supporter base at home, and it's great to put on a show for them."

The team has now regrouped and prepared the T55 KRE powered Maxim for this weekends round at of the KRE/QSSS Championship at Carrick, followed by rounds of the Farmers Union Iced Coffee series, which Jamie is favourite to take out.
