After
the frustration of a deflating right rear tyre in the
feature race of Round 7 of the Wanless World Series
at the Bendigo Bank Arena Raceway on Tasmania last time
out, Jamie Bricknell and the whole Bricknell Motorsport
team have been working hard to prepare the # 55 TAS
Giraffe Civil Contracting supported Maxim for a very
busy month ahead.
“The
next month is pretty hectic for us as we have 8 nights
of racing in 4 weeks, so it’s been a case of check and
re-check everything to make sure we are ready to go”.
The team are preparing to venture to the mainland for
Jamie’s first appearances at Avalon, Mt Gambier and
Warrnambool, which Jamie is really excited about, “
I have heard a lot of good things about those tracks,
and having seen them a couple of years ago when Dad
raced over there. I can’t wait.”
However,
before they can load up and head across the water, there
is some serious racing to be done at home in Tassie,
with Boxing Day at Cranes Combined Carrick Speedway,
the next night at Bendigo Bank Arena at Latrobe and
then back to Carrick for a double header early in January.
“Boxing Day at Carrick has always been a big event,
and with the new clay on the track, and a big field,
I’m sure it will be really tough.”
Both
Boxing Day at Cranes Combined Carrick Speedway, and
the following night at Bendigo Bank Arena are rounds
of the Farmers Union Iced coffee Series, which has had
a stalled start this season due to the inclement weather
conditions experienced in Tasmania over the last month,
“ The weather has been unbelievable, very frustrating
for everyone, but let’s hope its fine and warm from
here on in.”
