Sensational
was one of the words used to describe the 2009/10 season
of Jamie Bricknell on the Tasmanian Sprintcar scene
and his list of achievements certainly backed up those
claims.
Recently
Bricknell walked away from the annual Tasmanian Sprintcar
Association club presentation dinner with an impressive
haul of trophies for his efforts throughout the 2009/10
season.
The
list of awards that Bricknell picked up included; D&L
Morrison Series, Tasmanian Club Championship, along
with the Bendigo Bank Arena (Latrobe) Mountain Dew Ice
Raceway (Hobart) and Carrick Speedway track championships.
Aside from those successes the Launceston based youngster
picked up runner up in the Farmers Union Series point
score and the Bricknell Motorsport team picked up the
best presented award. Bricknell also shared the awards
for most heat race (eight with Tim Hutchins and Jason
Redpath) and feature race (four with Tim Hutchins) wins
over the course of the season.
Another
highlight from the 2009/10 season for Bricknell was
a far from disgraced performance during his sole trip
to the mainland, where he contested the Presidents Cup
(Avalon Raceway, VIC), Kings Challenge (Borderline Speedway,
SA), Grand Annual Classic (Premier Speedway, VIC) and
World Series round (Premier Speedway, VIC).

“It’s
been a very successful season and thanks must go to
my team and all of my sponsors for all their wonderful
support, as without them none of this would have been
possible,” expressed the 20-year-old. “The only real
disappointment to come from the season was narrowly
missing out on winning the Farmers Union Series, as
it was only a bit of misfortune that ruined our chances
in the end but running second to Shaun [Dobson] is not
something to be ashamed about.”
