Biography:

Since the age of 7, Jamie Bricknell has competed within Motorsport and it all started via Go Karting on the asphalt.

Having always been around Speedway, as his father Steve has previously competed in Super Sedans, Mini Sprints, and then later Sprintcars, Bricknell didn’t step into Speedway until the age of 18.

During his time in Go Karting, which he stills dabbles in around his Sprintcar commitments, Bricknell scored numerous wins within his home state and multiple podium finishers in Tasmania Title events, and he was unlucky not have to have captured the # 1 plate on a few occasions.

At the age of 18 Bricknell stepped into Sprintcars at the commencement of the 2007/08 season, where he was based around Tasmanian tracks. Highlights from Bricknell’s debut season included a feature race podium finish at Hobart International Speedway, a sixth place finish in the World Series round at Latrobe Speedway, a fourth place finish in the Tasmanian Series point score, and was awarded the Tasmania rookie of the year honours.

After just one season in Sprintcars Bricknell has shown plenty of ability behind the wheel of the 800 plus horsepower cars, and he is no doubt looking to build on those achievements heading into his second season.

The plans for the future is to work on building up a good reputation within his home state of Tasmania, and then compete in some of the major events on the main land, and eventually head over to America to race.

Although level headed and quiet, Bricknell is a talent of the future, not only in the state of Tasmania, but in Australia, and his results so far prove that he is not just a flash in the pan.
